Until recently in order to push a Craigslist posting back to the top of the listings, one would have to delete it and then repost it, a many step process.

I noticed not long ago there is now a ‘renew’ link-button in the ‘manage’ column of options. When one clicks this renew link, the post is reposted to the top of the listings. This is a big time saver.

Thank you Craigslist.

  2. The renew button still works for me. Are you sure you have a post eligible for renewal? The renew button will only be there after the post is old enough to be eligible to be renewed.

  3. They are all eligible. I have been using it since they launched it and it went missing last week. I hadn’t renewed anything since last Thursday which is well outside the 48 hour limit.

  4. Ya some of mine get the renew button after 48 hours but some of them never get the renew button. Maybe it’s a quirk they are working out?

  5. I post from about 6 separate accounts, and have noticed that not all my posts or renewals are able to be actually SEEN. Has anyone else had this problem?
Also, call verification is used ALL THE TIME now! If you let a post expire, to repost, you have to do the phone verification thing again and again…
    What’s up??

  6. I’d love to know what’s going on too. Can’t figure out why some posts are eligible for renewal while others aren’t. There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason. Also, the constant phone verification is driving me batty!

  7. My renewal buttons came back (for now) but I have apartment postings (using an HTML template) that show up as being active but I can’t find either. I think they are cracking down on their use…so this might be a contributor to your issue, Elliott.

I have noticed that the phone verification has increased but only to once every 90 days (so far) for me.

  8. I think that the “Renewal” button is linked to making it easier for Craigslist to “ghost” your ad. I recently posted an ad in the Services Offered section on Craigslist after being off site for several months and at first I had to use the “delete” button several times to repost, then suddenly I was given the option to use the “Renewal” button and then “pffft” my ad disappeared when I clicked on it. After agonizing for several days about what happened to my ad, I realized it was ghosted. Now I have to come back on using a new phone number, email and IP address. Beware of the Renewal Button….:o)

  9. Now they just need a Delete button. I have old ads that I’ve already sold, still lingering on my page from when I started craiglist, three years ago -___-

  10. It works just fine. I just renewed one of my listings today. It`s just that it won`t appear until your listing has been up for a few days first.
